William Devlin – U3A Roll of Honour

Downe U3A nominated for the U3A Roll of Honour their founder member, William Devlin, who sadly died last year. While he was the motive force responsible for starting up U3A in the area and spent his final years establishing the group, he was also a past vice-chair of the NI Regional Executive.  It is thanks to his efforts that the agreement between LibrariesNI and U3As was established and this has been a great benefit to many ofus..

A scroll marking his entry into the National U3A Roll of Honour was presented to his widow Monica by Noreen Boyd (Chair Downe U3A) and tributes were delivered by Leila Jackson (Chair N.I. U3A) and Paddy Killen (Past Chair Downe U3A and member since its inception.)
