U3A Foyle

FINAL INVITE 30th Anniversary 2019
The University of the Third Age (U3A) in Foyle celebrates its 30th Anniversary next year.  The very first meeting was held on 6th December 1989 and so they are having a Thanksgiving &
Celebration event on Friday 6th December 2019 from 2-3pm in Pascal McDonald House,
Gransha Park.

They  are hoping that representatives from some of the other U3As across the region will be in
attendance, the Mayor of the City & District, as well as representatives from the groups who have
helped us and worked with them over the years.

U3A Foyle was the first U3A to be established in Ireland and is one of a very select few U3As
throughout the world to own its own premises.  They had a membership of over 1,000 members last year.

This event will be primarily a celebration for our members to highlight the journey their U3A has
made over 30 years. There will be some musical input from the U3A Foyle Choir and Folk
Club and they are hoping to have some original pieces read aloud from the Writers Group.

There will be some mince pies and mulled wine for everyone afterwards.
